Hospitalist Services at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital provide a highly skilled team of physicians that are specially trained in the delivery of inpatient care. Our hospitalists see you on behalf of your personal physician and direct your care while you are in the Hospital. Hospitalist Services at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital are designed to enhance patient care, offering:
Because these physicians work closely with the hospital every day, they have experience caring for patients, are highly knowledgeable about hospital procedures and are able to effectively coordinate care with a patient’s medical team. Patients can feel reassured, knowing that upon discharge our hospitalists will contact your doctor and update them along with completing a summary of your stay. If you are admitted to the hospital and don’t have a personal physician, the SBAMH Hospitalist Service will care for you while you are hospitalized. Once your hospital stay is complete, they will coordinate with the appropriate hospital personnel to provide you with information regarding future healthcare needs.
Between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital utilizes Telemedicine, one of the latest innovations in hospital care, to connect patients and hospital clinical staff with physicians who work off-site.
Telehospitalists collaborate with staff to diagnose and admit patients to the Hospital, the same as an “on-site” hospitalist would. No matter where the telehospitalists are located, they are blicensed to practice medicine in Kansas. They have gone through the same credentialing process required of all physicians who practice at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital.
